Awareness of the importance of carbon neutrality and mobilization to affect real and systemic change has never been higher. Climate change is increasingly a concern for Americans across the political spectrum. Per the Washington Post in September, 2019:

“A growing number of Americans describe climate change as a crisis… The poll finds that a strong majority of Americans — about 8 in 10 — say that human activity is fueling climate change, and roughly half believe action is urgently needed within the next decade if humanity is to avert its worst effects. Nearly 4 in 10 now say climate change is a “crisis,” up from less than a quarter five years ago.”

What remains to be seen is how individuals can make an impact day to day. Soli is working toward just such a solution, allowing consumers to make an impact toward carbon reduction through their everyday spending. Of course we hope this will be part of a larger movement toward a sustainable future, where the manmade effects on climate change are curtailed and the environment remains a top priority at the ballot box and beyond.

Given our mission, we keep an eye on this space and notably a coalition of luminaries from politics, entertainment and media have formed an initiative to achieve net zero carbon emissions. Participants include Leonardo DiCaprio, John Kerry, and Emma Watson. Their movement is called “World War Zero” and seeks to mobilize people toward this effort in a way similar to what was accomplished in World War II, which speaks to the urgency of the issue.
